I started creating stories as a toddler . . . No kidding ! My mother loves to tell the story of my second birthday; her watching a room full of children, circled around the ‘Birthday Girl’. There I lay in the living room floor, with the Sunday comics spread out before me as my guests huddled around. Children of all ages, completely mesmerized by the story that I was bringing to life from these pages. One of the other moms, frozen in place, nearly as captivated by my story as were my friends. This woman listened to me for several minutes, before retreating to the kitchen where my mother was plating the birthday cake. With her eyes as big as saucers, she approached my mom. “Robin” she said, “I had no idea that Erin could read. What 2-year old can do that?” My mom had to chuckle because she knew that I couldn’t read, not one word! I could, however, assemble an incredibly believable and fascinating story line, to follow the drawings that filled this colorful page.
My mom says it’s our gift; she says we were born with a talent and I have to agree. I was writing stories in my mind, long before I could put a pen to paper. My mother has freelanced as a non-fiction writer for most of her adult life and one of her sisters, my Aunt Connie, is a well received author, with more than two dozen books (published by major publishing houses) over the past fifteen years.
I love to write, both fiction and non; It is what I was born to do. I take great pride in my ability to take an idea presented by a client and bring it to life on the written page. My personal passion is fantasy/fiction but my jobs have encompassed all genres of writing. My work has included sales copy, product descriptions, stories in rhyme, branding copy, training manuals, scripting, blog copy, non-fiction articles, and the ghostwriting of several books.
There is no subject that I cannot weave into a captivating written piece; whether doing my own research or working with information that you have provided . . .
